We’re Baaaack!

Surprise! We're baaaaaack!

I've realised that I've been taking a couple of weeks Mental Health Break each year, which should just be a holiday BUT I'm a horrible planner so I just work myself into exhaustion... So this is your friendly reminder from someone who doesn't take her own advice to LOOK OUT FOR BURN OUTTTTT!

The last couple of weeks have been amazing though!

We've spent a lot of time together as a family, found our footing again, had cooked meals (most nights - because we can't shake the Uber Eats habit) and the house has been absolutely beautiful and not the trashed mess it usually is because I just don't have the energy at the end of the day to pick up the toys or do the dishes.

We’ve been to the beach more than we’ve been home and Airlie has been absolutely living her best life!

We also had a beautiful couple of days over Easter as a family and (once again) went away to the beach for the first relaxing holiday I’ve had in a loooong time since I usually can’t switch off!

Queensland also has had to mask up so I whipped out my sewing machine and made everyone in the family some masks to wear out of all of our favourite fabrics!

Because we couldn’t stay at the Sunshine Coast without experiencing mini golf at Holey Moley for the first time!

However, while I had convinced myself that this was probably going to be it this time, even though I was very clearly holding on to Chaotic Way - I had an incredible Scrunchie fairy (aka My Mum) steal my cut stash and sew up a storm for me so that every. single. one. is officially pre-sewn!

This may not sound like much but this is pretty much the whole reason why we're able to come back so soon! As a solo business owner, who does have a team that drifts in and out in between their own lives - I have to wear all of the hats a majority of the time.

We've been stuck in a cycle where we sew enough to snap some photos (usually the night before) and then throw them up, sell them and then sew them as orders come through so that I have time to respond to emails, create our Facebook Ads, TRY (and fail) to be active in our Facebook group, post, try to grow our social media pages, pack the orders, source whatever we're going to do next, avoid bookwork... the whole show!

But while we're still taking our time re-uploading everything, there's no reason for the website to stay down when everything is sitting there ready to pop in the post!

Eeeeeekk - how good is that!

I've also been tinkering with the website, so it's MUCH better to navigate and easier to view our goodies and we're coming back with a skip in our step and a clear direction!

Bucket Hats are what we're going to tackle next and re-add, which will be about two weeks away - but until then:

  • Drink your water
  • Learn to realise when you're getting close to a burnout
  • Unclench your jaw
  • If you don't have time to rest, at least slow down
  • It's ok to drop the ball, because you can always pick it up later

Here's to looking after ourselves a LOT better from now on!
